Twitch Unveils New Pokémon Chat Badge Evolutions Ahead of Pokémon Night Out
Twitch launches a fresh set of evolving Pokémon chat badges to coincide with its upcoming Pokémon Night Out live events scheduled for October 24 and November 10.
On October 16, Twitch announced that a new phase of the Pokémon Chat Badge Collection would be available today. The update introduces evolved versions of existing badges—Pichu → Pikachu, Bulbasaur → Ivysaur → Venusaur, Squirtle → Wartortle → Blastoise, Charmander → Charmeleon → Charizard—and allows users who equip these badges and watch qualifying content for 20 minutes each day over three days to earn an additional evolution. No additional subscription purchases are required; equipped badges will automatically unlock their evolved forms after meeting the watch requirements. These evolutions can no longer be earned after January 30, 2027.
The Gengar Line is a limited‑time drop tied to Pokémon Night Out. By gifting or subscribing (prime subs ineligible) between October 16 and October 24, viewers can unlock Gastly, Haunter, and Gengar chat badges through similar watch requirements. Users must watch 20 minutes per day for three days to progress from one badge to the next; this progression does not need to occur on consecutive days. The chance to evolve these badges ends January 30, 2027.
Pokémon Night Out itself is slated for two dates: October 24 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles and November 10 at The O₂ in London, headlined by world‑famous DJs. Twitch’s new badge updates aim to enhance engagement during those live streams. 1
