World of Warcraft: Forever Adds Alpha‑Level Gamepad Support on PC

On Monday, November 02, 2026, Blizzard announced that World of Warcraft: Forever will include alpha‑level gamepad support on PC. The feature lets players use an Xbox controller and map on‑screen button icons to corresponding controller buttons.

Enabling the controller support is seamless from the main menu—just go into Options and check the box for “Gamepad (Alpha)” support. Once activated you can navigate bags, quests, character panels and other menus solely through the controller; it comes included in your current subscription so no additional purchase is required.

Combat actions are tied to triggers and bumpers, allowing a rhythmic flow similar to console gameplay. A ping system using the right analog stick helps nudge party members with commands such as Attack, Warning, On My Way, and Assist. ¹
